Gusztáv Dimer (1855-1912) was a professor at the University of Medical Sciences, first chairman of the Graphic Department of the St. George Guild, and also a well-known collector or ex-libris. For him, József Faragó, a cartoonist and engraver made an ex-libris piece typical of the age. The two most important topics are interpreted in the picture the mysterious woman and impenetrable fate. The composition shows the allegorical figure of death lurking behind the naked female figure. The symbolic picture is built upon the contrast of life a death, beautiful and ugly, deriving from the erotic and death-conscious attitude of the fin de siécle. The symbols appearing in the pictures are well-know from the iconography of vanity: a peacock, a mirror, a skeleton with a scythe. 

Gusztáv Dimer (1855-1912) foi professor da Universidade de Ciências Médicas, primeiro presidente do Departamento Gráfico do St. George Guild, e também um conhecido colecionador de ex-libris. Para ele, József Faragó, cartunista e gravador fez um ex-libris típico da época. Os dois tópicos mais importantes são interpretados na imagem da mulher misteriosa e do destino impenetrável. A composição mostra a figura alegórica da morte à espreita por trás da figura feminina nua. A imagem simbólica é construída sobre o contraste entre a vida e a morte, bela e feia, decorrente da atitude erótica e consciente da morte do fin de siécle. Os símbolos que aparecem nas imagens são bem conhecidos da iconografia da vaidade: um pavão, um espelho, um esqueleto com uma foice.
